The implementation of the coaching action in Varaždin was initiated in March 2018, and it was concluded in December 2018. The Institution Regional Energy Agency Kvarner (IREAK) subcontracted an organization which was in charge of handling the coaching activities in Varaždin. The subcontracted organization in question is Regional Energy Agency North. Throughout the coaching period, this action was supported, monitored and guided by IREAK’s staff. The coaching action in Varaždin was focused on revising the existing SEAP document in order to harmonize the relevant measures with the Master plan for an integrated passenger transport system in northern Croatia. SEAP document was successfully revised by the end of the project SIMPLA. The existing Master plan for an integrated passenger transport system in northern Croatia is a pre-existing regional Master plan, which was defined on a regional level in 2017. It covers the area of several Croatian counties, one of which is Varaždin County with Varaždin area. Since it is a higher-level document, modification of the Master plan is not under the competence of the City of Varaždin. That's the reason the implementation of this coaching action and the harmonization process in Varaždin had to be one-sided: SEAP was harmonized with the Master plan, but the content of the Master plan wasn’t affected by this process.
